Separate structural steel, copper, aluminum, brass, equipment, and mixed loads as the project progresses.
Separate the material streams
Structural steel, copper wiring and tubing, aluminum frames, brass fixtures, stainless equipment, and mixed demolition metal should be identified before final debris consolidation.
Document control and condition
Coordinate salvage decisions with the project schedule, ownership and release requirements, utility isolation, environmental controls, and the separation of nonmetal debris.
Plan access and loading
Describe active-work-zone rules, truck routing, spotters, equipment, overhead hazards, ground conditions, and any cutting or size-reduction needs.
Make recurring service measurable
For a recurring stream, record how much material is generated in a week or month, which container or staging method is currently used, seasonal or project peaks, contamination risks, and who can approve exchanges or schedule changes.
