Separate the material streams
Production offcuts, turnings, stamping skeletons, stainless grades, aluminum alloys, carbide inserts, and obsolete tooling should remain labeled by process and alloy where possible.
Document control and condition
Prevent cross-contamination between alloys, manage oils and coolants appropriately, and preserve mill certificates, purchase records, or internal grade labels.
Plan access and loading
Explain container locations, forklift capacity, dock access, generation rate, exchange timing, and whether a recurring service review is needed.
Make recurring service measurable
For a recurring stream, record how much material is generated in a week or month, which container or staging method is currently used, seasonal or project peaks, contamination risks, and who can approve exchanges or schedule changes.
