Bare bright is the benchmark grade: clean, shiny, uncoated wire 16 gauge or thicker. Any solder, coating, or corrosion drops it to #1 or #2 — which is why we grade wire strand by strand, not by the bucket.
Get Full Value — Prep Tips
- Strip insulation only on 14 gauge or heavier — otherwise sell as insulated wire
- Keep bare bright separate from tinned and coated wire
- No solder joints, paint, or burnt sections in the bare bright bucket
- Coil and tie bundles — clean presentation speeds grading
