Sort clean yellow brass from plated fixtures, mixed valves, water meters, and material with steel attachments.
Inspect before combining the load
- fixture or plumbing source
- plating and mixed attachments
- clean versus breakage material
Useful separation groups
Where safe and practical, keep the following groups distinguishable for review:
- red brass
- water-meter bodies
- steel-bearing valves
Quantity, condition, and documentation
Estimate weight, dimensions, drum or gaylord count, pallet count, or production rate. Include clear photographs and note contamination, coatings, fluids, sealed components, grade records, and lawful ownership documentation that may be relevant.
Pickup and loading
Photograph a representative cross-section of the load, not only the top layer. State the pickup city, access hours, surface and clearance conditions, loading responsibility, and available forklift, crane, dock, or other equipment.
