Prepare structural steel, plate, machinery, and ferrous loads with weight, dimensions, contamination, and loading details.
Inspect before combining the load
- dimensions, thickness, and estimated weight
- concrete, rubber, wood, or sealed components
- prepared versus oversized pieces
Useful separation groups
Where safe and practical, keep the following groups distinguishable for review:
- structural steel
- plate and machinery
- mixed light iron
Quantity, condition, and documentation
Estimate weight, dimensions, drum or gaylord count, pallet count, or production rate. Include clear photographs and note contamination, coatings, fluids, sealed components, grade records, and lawful ownership documentation that may be relevant.
Pickup and loading
Confirm lifting capacity, cutting needs, truck access, and whether pieces can be loaded without unsafe manual handling. State the pickup city, access hours, surface and clearance conditions, loading responsibility, and available forklift, crane, dock, or other equipment.
